Why can’t I use a regular QR Code generator instead of a StoriDot?

StoriDot QR codes are unique because they link to a professionally produced mini-podcast - your own audio story!

Our recordings are managed by the professional audio production team at MouthMedia Network, a leading business-focused podcast network.

The StoriDot mobile webpage supports your audio story with clickable links to up to 3 websites, videos or other material that you choose.

How does the recording process work?

You schedule a 30 minute recording session with one of our skilled audio producers. At your session, we will record your mini-podcast (up to 5 minutes) using the participants and music that you provide (or that we can provide for you). Then, we edit and master the recording to optimize the quality of your recording, and deliver a finished mini- podcast to you. 

We take care of all the technical mechanics behind the scene to make sure your StoriDot works the way you want it to. We host the mini-podcast on our managed servers, and link it to your StoriDot QR code signage.

Will you coach me during the recording session?

Of course! But it helps if you come prepared - know your message and prepare a list of the key points that you want to communicate.

Can I customize my StoriDot sign and mobile webpage?

Of course! You can pick the colors and graphic design for your StoriDot QR code, using the template that we provide. You can also design your mobile webpage, with your logo, using our template, and select the image that will appear for your mini-podcast. 

How can I print my StoriDot QR code sign?

Once your your StoriDot has been created by us, and approved by you, we will send you an email containing your print-ready StoriDot QR code.You can print your StoriDot QR code sign on a home or an office printer, or using a third party printing service (including a service that prints on metal or on products such as t-shirts, coffee mugs and water bottles).

How can people scan a StoriDot?

You can attach your printed StoriDot QR code sign to a physical location, product package or other indoor or outdoor surface  (such as a retail store window or a trail marker.) 

Please try to scan it yourself, to be sure that the QR code can be easily accessed, and scanned, by others - make sure that it is large enough to scan easily.

StorIDot QR code signs can be scanned by most mobile phones, using the built-in camera (you don’t need to download a separate QR code scanning app).

Can people share on social media platforms other than Facebook or Twitter?

Of course! To make it easier to share on other platforms, we have provided a button which copies the link to the StoriDot page so it can be copied into a post for other platforms, such as Instagram. Users can copy the screen to use as an image.

How will I know if my StoriDot is being scanned?

You can log on to your StoriDot account and view your product dashboard,as often as you like, to check the number of times your StoriDot QR code has been scanned. However, you will not be able to identify the specific individuals who scanned your StoriDot QR code.

Can I change or update a StoriDot after it has been activated?

Yes! Once your StoriDot has been activated, you can keep your existing StoriDot QR code sign in place, but we can change or update your audio story for an additional fee.

What if my StoriDot QR code stops working?

That would be unusual. But, if  your StoriDot QR code no longer links to your custom mobile webpage, just contact us and we will see how we can fix the problem. 

I don’t want to use my own voice. Can you make the recording for me?

Yes, definitely. We have a group of trusted voiceover artists who can give your StoriDot the perfect professional impact. However, our producers can also coach you toward a better voice performance of your own voice that you’ll be more comfortable with.

Why is this better than visual signage?

StoriDot lets your customers hear your story directly from you, and they can walk away from the location and still be engaged. StoriDot delivers your story wherever you want to be heard.

Where can I put a StoriDot?

Most people have the StoriDot scanner targets professionally printed as signage and place them in high foot traffic areas. You can also put a StoriDot on a webpage, and if you use several we can chain them into a standalone podcast to publish on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, etc.
